On the other hand, although not every film should be an artistic piece of genius, I’d have preferred something closer to Black Panther here, where you feel enough of a director’s flourish throughout. They said DC characters work better on their own terms anyway, so why not really go for it?
So we get something that’s good enough, but not standout. Every character overall only gets a bit of depth, kinda as a backseat to the fun actually. But at least there’s enough consistency, unlike Justice League, which felt like it tried and failed to be fun and serious. Credit’s due where it’s due then, and i’m curious to see where things go next for DC films..
