Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel isn’t necessarily what you’d expect, let me just say that. For better or worse despite being a bit formulaic at times, it does try to take some twists and turns.

With Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, she’s someone from Earth who’s converted into an alien Kree, with special powers, as they fight against the Skrulls. In the middle of everything are people like Samuel L Jackson, amazingly de-aged as Nick Fury, given this is set in the 1990s. And although Marvel once again hiring indie directors might seem a bit lazy, here, with Ryan Boden and Anna Fleck, it probably serves to the benefit of the characters, because everyone seems to have their moment to shine (especially Goose the cat!).

And that’s all I have to say here really. It’s a good solid 4-star Marvel film. Don’t necessarily expect anything really revolutionary, but it’s a good solid  4-star Marvel film.
