As a spectacle, you get your ticket’s worth. You can tell the footage was for real, especially if you see this in IMAX. As a drama, it part delivers.

Cruise – as Maverick, has declined in relevance although hilariously it goes to lengths so you wouldn’t know it’s a contemporary film. It has its own timeline. 

Credit the film for integrity then, not so much the drama, but more on that another time. Just see this at the cinema…
